Clareira was born from an encounter between two musical universes
of the city of São Paulo. One which develops from urban Brazilian music, with diverse influences - in which classical music and the different languages that emerged from improvisation are inserted; and another, which contemplates the roots of Brazilian music with its great cultural diversity. From the first Benjamim and João and from the second, Ari, Neusa, Mazé, Verlúcia and Sapopemba, former members of the music group of Abaçaí Cultura e Arte, an entity dedicated to the study and production
cultural, which contemplates Brazilian popular culture. Featured for
the presence of Jose Silva dos Santos, Sapopemba, a migrant from Alagoas, living in São Paulo since his adolescence.
Such a change did not stop him
to keep your northeastern culture alive.
On the contrary, he was able to expand it even though he lived far from his region of origin.
Our meeting of these two strands, generated the first album Cantos do Nosso Chão, released in 2006 and now Clareira - Cantos do Nosso Chão 2 with songs that we have carefully elaborated and developed, in a wood fire in the live performances of these last 11 years . Ari Colares
