about

A disc with several faces of the orchestra in the figure of each composer. Thus the flutist and saxophonist Teco Cardoso defines the essence of the new CD of the Orquestra Popular de Câmara. Considered one of the best groups in contemporary Brazilian music, the Orchestra made a European tour stopping at some of the main music festivals in Germany, Spain and Belgium, with positive reviews from the specialized press.

The purpose of this work is to present the various readings made by the participants (musicians, soloists, composers, improvisers, arrangers) in the compositions for the orchestra with care not to abandon the ideas of the first album and the group's own formation: the appropriation of languages popular and erudite and, with regard to arrangements, the mixture of closed and open structures.

The recording at the Sesc Ipiranga theater, in October 2002, reflected the characteristics of the orchestra: the interaction between musicians and the public is more propitious with the energy of “live”.
